Bertha Elsner

September 8, 1923 - May 12, 2015

Mrs. Bertha Richart Elsner of Naples, Florida, formerly of Seymour, Indiana, passed away May 12, 2015, in Tucson, Arizona, while visiting family.

Bertha was born in Seymour, Indiana, on September 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Leo and Emma Hunt Richart.

On June 7, 1947, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, she married Omer W. Elsner, who passed away September 7, 2001.

Bertha was a loving mother who enjoyed life and being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing golf and cards with them. Bertha found delight in her great grandchildren.

Bertha is survived by her children: Patricia (Rudi) Peterson, Bill (Joan) Elsner and Nancy (Fred) Daues; her grandchildren: Mark Petersen, Stacey, Katie and Greg Elsner, Jessica Daues Riis, Freddy and Chris Daues and their families; 3 great grandchildren: Carter Lips, Jake Riis, and Max Daues; her brother Paul R. Richart and sister Betty (W.J.) Lane.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers

A Funeral Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Saturday, June 6th, 2015, at 11:00 AM with Fr. Dan Staublin officiating.

Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday after 9:30 AM until time of Mass.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family requests that memorial be designated to St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Bertha was the sweetest, fiestiest, good hearted little lady. We teased each other constantly all in good fun. I was one of her Gin partners and she could really, really play cards. She usually went home with the money. She leaves a big hole and will be missed so much by all her friends in Naples. She was a great friend and I will miss her, but I know she is in a better place. She loved her husband so much and I know they are together now.
