Ileen Wetzel, of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at her home. She was born in Paris Crossing, IN in 1941 to the late Willie and Josie McIntosh.
She was a member of The Tabernacle in Seymour. She married Charles Dean Wetzel in July 1961 in Paris Crossing; he preceded her in death. She had retired from Excello Shirt Factory, Hoosier Christian Village, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crafting, tending to flowers in her garden, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, was an avid Colts and Peanuts fan, and always looked forward to the Fall season and Halloween.
She is survived by her five children, Arnold (Shelley) Wetzel, Jerry (Kim) Wetzel, Larry Joe (Bridgitt) Wetzel, Lori Arvin and Randy (Misty) Wetzel; grandchildren Clayton Wetzel, Chuck Arvin, Mitchell Wetzel, Jacob (Jennifer) Wetzel, Brad Arvin, Lindsey (Mitchell) Kilgas, Morganne (Michael) Wodecki, Collin Coffman, Audrey (fiancé Ethen Roberts) Wetzel, Cecily Coffman, Coltin Wetzel, and Harrison Wetzel; great-grandchildren Remi Wetzel, Ryan Wetzel, Cameron Wetzel, Larkin Kilgas; brothers Eugene (Joyce) McIntosh, Curtis (Karen) McIntosh and Steve (Gail) McIntosh; sisters Edna Rocky, Wanda Sullivan and Judy Baker; brothers-in-law Tom Bratcher and Ernest Kramer; sisters-in-law Nancy McIntosh and Sandy McIntosh.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandchild Logan J Wetzel; brothers Jack McIntosh and David McIntosh; sisters Henrietta Mettler, Birdie Adams, Francis Bratcher and Patricia Kramer; brothers-in-law Elwood (Woody) Mettler, Dean Adams, Dick Rocky and Mike Sullivan.
Funeral services will be at The Tabernacle on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 11 am with Pastor Larry Arrowood officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at The Tabernacle on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 4-8 pm and from 10 am until time of service on Wednesday.
