Mrs. Geneva A. Hoene, 85, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Born on November 4, 1929 to the late Albert and Mathilda Hackman Eggersman. She married Ivan H.A. Hoene on April 30, 1950 at St. Johns Lutheran Church (Saurers), he died May 13, 2000. Geneva lived on the family farm in the Brownstown area for many years. Once Ivan passed away, she moved to Seymour. Mrs. Hoene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers. Geneva lived her life to the fullest and made beautiful quilts. She also had quite a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Canning food was also among her many talents. Her family loved to visit and eat wonderful meals that Geneva would cook for everyone.
Survivors include three sisters: Wilma Benter, Maxine Newcomb, and Dorothy Otte Simmons, and several nieces and nephews.
Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister Mildred Thiele, and one niece Patricia Marcin.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church (Borchers) with Rev. Steven Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday, March 27, 2015, from 4 to 8 pm at Voss Chapel and 9:30 am on Saturday until the time of the service at the church.
