Kenny Williams left a message on January 25, 2019:
Lance and I played poker together for a few years, until he moved to the Indy area. I'll always remember the look on his face when I beat him with a straight flush. I valued him as a friend and did not know of any illnesses. This was a total shock to me, as I had not been in close touch recently. Ironically, I received an email from Lance last Sunday that I suspected was spam. I texted him with no response. Now I know why. I am saddened by his loss and extend my deepest condolences to his family for our loss. I hate to say this living in Bloomington, but Boiler Up Lance. Kenny Williams

Kimberly Melton Hillenburg left a message on January 24, 2019:
I’m so sad to hear of Lance passing. Known him him since the second grade. He was always a smart, talented, and friendly boy. As so was the man that I was fortunate enough to see and talk to at one of our class reunions. It took me a minute to recognize him as his red hair had turned. Lol! But he still had those freckles and was the same old Lance! I’ll always remember him fondly. And, he will always be dear to my heart as I picture that little red headed, freckled boy that I was lucky enough to know. I’m sorry but do to the timing I may not be able to make it to services, but I will try. My deepest sympathies to his family, Kimberly Melton Hillenburg :heart::pray:
