Mrs. Barbara Frances Martin, 87 of Seymour, passed away October 18, 2014, at the Covered Bridge Health Care Campus in Seymour.
Barbara was born in Brown County, Indiana on February 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Russell and Minnie (Brown) Lutes. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Seymour and the Hayden Order of Eastern Star.
Barbara was the perfect mother who loved her family and stayed busy with many activities. She loved her church, music, embroidering, sewing and doing her jigsaw puzzles.
She was blessed with a large family and will be greatly missed by her children: Roger (Sandy) Hilderbrand, Joan (Jim) Elmore, Linda (Dean) Butler, Brenda (Bruce) Murphy, Shelby (Aaron) Edwards and Sharon (Larry) Castetter, daughter in law Lucretia Turnmire, sister Ednamae Lucas, 18 grand, 39 great grand and 18 great great grandchildren, several step children, several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, William Turnmire, Luther Mobley and Jacob Martin, sons William “Aaron” Turnmire, Quentin Turnmire and infant son Myron Turnmire, daughter Donna Edwards, granddaughter Dianna “Elmore” Milliman, grandson Billy Turnmire and brothers Lloyd and Thomas Lutes.
The family will be honoring “mom” with a visitation and funeral on Tuesday at Voss Chapel, 316 N. Chestnut St., in Seymour from 3 to 6 p.m. with service at 6 p.m., with Rev. Kenny Roberson, officiating. Then on Friday at the Victory Christian Church, 33907 Co. Hwy EE, Mather, Wisconsin on Friday, after 9 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Darrin DeFord, officiating.
Mrs. Martin requested to be buried beside her husband William Turnmire in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mather, Wisconsin.
Family request that memorial gifts may be given to the charity of choice.
