Bernadine Redicker, 86, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on August 22, 2022, at Covered Bridge Health Campus. She was born on July 2, 1936, to the late Jack Lewis and Edith (Durham) Lewis. On July 6, 1957, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, she married the love of her life, the late, Donald “Don” Redicker.

Bernadine was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Phi Beta Si, and Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She helped with multiple activities at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golf, IU sports, and was a huge fan of Bobby Knight. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Steven (Dana) Redicker, Mark (Mary) Redicker, and Kris (John) Slevin; eight grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) Phillips, Steve Jr (Chelsie) Redicker, Megan Redicker, Allison Redicker, Maddie Roark, Lance Roark, Maddison Slevin, Katy Roark; six great grandchildren, Kaylynn Schafer, Hayley Phillips, Savannah Phillips, Wyatt Phillips, Max Redicker, and Evelyn Redicker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Redicker; her parents Jack and Edith Lewis; and two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Lewis, and Donald “Bo” Lewis.

Visitation will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Thursday August 25, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm and on Friday from 12:30 pm until the time of the service at 1:30pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow service at Riverview Cemetery.

Family request memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 W Bryan Mawr Ave, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631.

Great memories of earlier family times spent with Bernie and brother Don. Regretfully those times were too infrequent after my marriage and moving away from Seymour. The last time I saw Bernie she invited me to stay overnight to attend my high school reunion and prepared a hearty breakfast for me the next morning too! Hugs to all the family! To all of our Redicker family: Gwen and I are deeply saddened by the passing of Bernie. She was like a second mom to me whenever I came to Seymour to visit and partake in the local “festivities”. She always welcomed me with a big hug and smile….and often a couch and blanket to sleep. Her deep and devoted love of her family, often reminded me of my own mother. I know this is a very trying time for you all, but take solace in all the great memories you have. You all are in our thoughts and we wish we could be there with you. Very sad to hear of Bernie's passing. We were blessed to have the Redicker family as our neighbors. Don and Bernie were like neighborhood Grandparents taking care of all children that played in the area. The birthday celebration held last July for Bernie by her children was a wonderful tribute to her.
