Bertha A. Jackson, 98, of Seymour passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.  She was born on December 7, 1924, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Henry William and Emilie (Eggersman) Stuckwish.  On February 10, 1965, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she married Ralph W. Jackson, and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1976.

Ms. Jackson worked as a field employee of the G.C. Murphy Company and retired as a bookkeeper for Stewarts L. P. Gas.  She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and a past member of Friends Bible Class.

She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, doing crossword puzzles and volunteering for various organizations.  She was almost unbeatable at scrabble.

Bertha is survived by one daughter Kristina Tinsley of Ft. Wayne, IN and three beloved grandchildren and their respective partners.  In addition to her daughter and grandchildren, Bertha is survived by one stepson, Gregory Jackson; one stepdaughter, Susan Jackson, and step grandchildren in California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Martha Benter, Alice Stuckwish, Edna Schrader, and Malinda Steltenpohl; two brothers, Wilbert and Alvin Stuckwish; and one son-in-law, David Alexander Tinsley.

Funeral Services for Bertha will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Voss and Son’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating.  Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.  A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
