Mrs. Betty Jean Burton, 79, of Seymour, passed away on September 2, 2018 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Casey County, Kentucky on September 27, 1938 to Cleo and Alene (Haste) Wilson.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, September 7 at 11 am with Rev. Dan DeFriece officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday from 4-8 pm and on Friday from 10 am until time of service.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Columbus. Through the years, she had been employed at HO Canfield, Cummins, Buehlers IGA, Foods Plus and still worked at Walmart. She was a foster grandparent at Brown Elementary. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, cooking Sunday family dinners and watching cooking and weather shows.
She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Larry) Lowe, Rhonda (Randy) Burden, Terri Henry and Star (David) Gray; grandchildren, Josh (Chelsie)York, Justin York, Tiffany (Chris) Thurston, Briana Henry, Tyler (Macy) Gray and Jordan Henry; great-grandchildren, Jaiden York, Paisleigh Thurston and Presleigh Thurston; sisters, Sharon (Don) Baird, Kay (Joe) Hoene and Deb (Mike) Ward; sister-in-law, Marilyn Wilson and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; first husband, Jack Davidson; second husband, Paul Burton; sister, Carolyn Rose Wilson; brother, Bob Wilson; and son-in-law, Jeff Henry.
Memorials may be written to American Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
