Betty M. Acton, 83, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Saturday August 1, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center with her family by her side.
Betty was born August 25, 1931, in Indianapolis, Indiana, The daughter of the late Oscar Marion Franklin and Emma Hutchings Stout. .
She married Charles W. Acton on November 5, 1948; he passed away on September 18, 2011.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Waymansville. She retired in 1987 from Excello Shirt Factory after 26 years of service.
Betty enjoyed being with her family and watching her grandchildren’s events. She loved to work in her rose garden, read books, work on puzzle books, fish and she was an IU Basketball fan.
Betty is survived by her children, Allen (Bev) Acton, Billy (Debbie) Acton, Beatrice (Jack) Hercamp, Carol (Jim) Johnson, and Brian Acton (friend Shelley Rubio), grandchildren, Mark (Lisa) Acton, Matt (Amanda) Acton, Shawn Acton, Jaison Acton, Jennifer Acton, Melanie (Mark) Koch, Cody ( Jennifer) Hercamp, Zachery Ping and Sara Johnson, 9 great granddaughters, 1 great grandson and 1 great great grandson. Also several brother and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Charles Eugene Acton, brother, Oscar Franklin and step brother, Leon Marshall.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Waymansville, 11750 W 930 S, with Rev. John Beabout officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday August 4, 2015 at Voss Chapel from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and again at St. Peter Lutheran Church on Wednesday August 5, 2015 from 11:00 am until time of service.
Memorial checks may be written to the church building fund at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Salvation Army, or Lutheran Community Home.
