Mrs. Betty Marie Werskey, 87, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born on August 24, 1930, in Fort Ritner, Indiana, to Hubert and Flo (Baker) Flinn. Mrs. Werskey was a nursing assistant at Schneck Medical Center for twenty four and a half years. After retiring from the hospital, she worked as a care giver. She was a member of The Wesleyan Church. On October 21, 1951, she married Donald Werskey; he preceded her in death on December 2, 2015.
She is survived by her children, Mark Werskey, Cinda (Larry) Foist and Bruce (Karen) Werskey; grandchildren, Matthew Werskey, Gloria (Christopher) Schrader, Stacy (Heikki) Hounshell, Brittney (Aaron) Mang, Bryce (Leah) Werskey and Brooke Werskey; three great-grandchildren, Dakota and Samuel Schrader, and Gabriel Hounshell; sisters, Jennie Ray and Anita Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Marvin Flinn; and infant son, Dana Werskey.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 9 at 1 pm with Rev. Matt Price officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday from 4-8 pm and on Tuesday from 12 noon until time of service.
Memorials may be written to The Wesleyan Church or Hospice of Schneck Medical Center, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
