Billie L. King, 86, of Seymour, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019. Billie was born on December 28, 1932 in Lawrence County, Illinois to Thurman Aldridge and Edythe (Conover) Aldridge.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1122 N. O’Brien St., Seymour. There will be a private graveside burial of her ashes at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, Indiana, alongside her husband of 62 years and her son Mark.
After graduating high school, Billie worked full-time in the Bible ministry work until she met Charles and married on July 19, 1954. They spent the first 26 years of their marriage living in Salem, IN before moving to Seymour in 1980. They remained in Seymour for the next 22 years until moving to Brooksville, FL in 2002. Billie had recently moved back to Seymour and was delighted to get to see so many of her friends.
Billie was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Seymour. She was a very creative and talented person. She enjoyed researching Bible history, playing the piano, sewing, taking photos and putting together photo albums and scrap books, reading educational materials and so much more. She loved people and cooking delicious meals for friends and family and visiting with them in her home. But what she enjoyed the most was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by five daughters, Pamela (Richard) Grubb, Tami (Gary) Peters, Becky King, Charlotte King, and Sherri King. Also surviving are grandchildren, Andrew Davidson, Nathan Napier and Lauren Brooker and great-grandchildren Tyler and Eden Davidson; brothers, Ralph (Bobbye) Aldridge and Henry (Judy) Aldridge; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; son, Mark; and sister, Betty Metford.
