Ms. Brenda Kay Reese-Pennie, 67, of Brownstown, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Schneck Medical Center. She was born in 1951 in Seymour, to the late Kenneth and Thelma (Lynch) Johnson Sr.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 2 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Brian Lanning officiating. Burial will follow at Acme Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday from 4-8 pm and Wednesday from 12 Noon until time of service.
She was the co-owner/operator of The Hair Crossing in Seymour. She was a lifelong member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, Shawn (Traci) Johnson; grandchildren, Jake Johnson, Kayli Johnson, Jacob Paul Johnson and Isaiah Johnson; sister, Cindy (Brian) Lanning; and companion, Gary Jackson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Kenneth W. Johnson Jr.

She will be missed

Wow!!!!! Brenda just cut my hair the 7th, wasn't feeling good, was going Monday to the hospital for tests. Gave me a great haircut!!!!! I'll miss ya, Brenda!!!!!!

She was always one of my fave customers/people. She loved her God, her family, and her country. She would always come sing karaoke for me. "GOD BLESS THE USA." And some Patsy. Prayers to Shawn and Family and her blind boyfriend (her joke) much love.

Brenda was a great hairdresser! She always did a great job on my hair and my Dad's hair after I no longer could cut hair anymore. He loved going to her shop and flirting with her.! She will be sadly missed. God bless your family.
