Brenda G. Lewis, 56, of Seymour, passed away at her home on July 27, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Seymour on April 4, 1964 to parents Rex and Wanda Faye (Wells) Phillips. On May 30, 1984 she married Charles Lewis.
Brenda graduated from Medora High School and was employed with Sylvania for over 20 years. She was a hard worker and enjoyed her co-workers immensely, considering them part of her family. Brenda loved spending time knitting; she especially loved making blankets for her grandchildren.
Brenda is survived by her father; her loving husband; children, Amelia Lewis, Brandon Lewis, and Waylon Lewis; grandchildren, Cayden Furkin, Casey Graham, Allison Lewis, Clayton Lewis, Carly Lewis, Adrianna Lewis, Ashlynn Lewis, and Elijah Lewis; brother, John Phillips; and sister, Shelia (Kenny) Ping.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda, who passed away on August 22, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on July 30, 2020 at 6:30 pm with Pastor Dan DeFriece officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 5:00 pm until the time of service. Brenda will be buried at White River Valley Cemetery in Medora, Indiana. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, face masks must be worn at all times while at the funeral home.
Memorials honoring Brenda may be given to the Boys and Girls Club of Seymour or Riley Children’s Hospital, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

I am so sorry to hear if Brenda's passing. I worked with her at Valeo and she was a joy! Her laugh was so infectious! I loved going over to B12 to see her stylish nails! My heart goes out to the family. May God grant you comfort and understanding. :bouquet:

I have many childhood memories of Brenda... Mostly when I used to babyset on Saturday nights while Rex and Wanda had a needed night out for the week. I would stay overnight and it was more of a slumber party than anything else. Brenda was a sweet loving cousin and my heart goes out to the rest of the family. Gloria or as family called me "Sis"

Where to begin well I guess from the beginning. First she was my team leader she was an amazing team leader and loved her job and everyone that worked for her. She treated us all like family. Then we became friends outside of work took about a week after I started. Then she became a second mom to me. She was always there anytime I needed her when I had no one to give me a baby shower brenda and cathy got together and through me a baby shower. She helped me move into my house. My vehicle was broke down and she came out of her way to come get me and take me to work whether she was going or not she made sure I got there. She was at the hospital everyday when I had both my younger kids with the last one she was barely getting around because of treatments but she didn't care she was still there. I could go on for days. Brenda helped me become the person I am today. She is an amazing team lead an amazing friend and an amazing mother and grandmother. I looked up to her everyday. I'm thankful I was able to have a second mom like her I'm thankful she came in to my life. Wish she hadn't left so soon. I love you brenda. Fly high beautiful angel.

My mother truly was the most wonderful loyal woman I have ever met. She never once let me down, although I let her down over and over she never gave up on me. She always went 100% into anything she did and was full of honesty and forgiveness. Her word was always a sure thing. If she said something she meant it. She always showed up. They dont make em like that anymore. My mom was definitely one of a kind. I will miss her immensely. I love you mommy.

Let me tell you about my Sister Brenda Lewis. She was my best friend and confidante. We had many fun trips with our mother and made Soooo many unbelievable memories together. The beach was our favorite place and I am sure she will be there on the horizon and I will feel her presence. She was a Strong women who loved her family more than anything. She will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her. Heaven gained a special angel. She’s in no pain and at Peace. Rip my sweet Angel sister

I always enjoyed her Halloween costumes. Never a dull moment around her when you worked around her. A good stern team leader but showed fairness when necessary.

Brenda was the person that could walk in the room and everyone smiled. Her laughter was one of a kind. It was a bit mischievous and loaded with fun. That laughter is the one thing I don't know how to live without. She was the sister it took me years to find and I lost her too soon. I am so bless she was in my life.
