Carolyn E. Prewitt

August 28, 1935 - May 31, 2020

Mrs. Carolyn E. Prewitt, 84, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Lutheran Community Home. She was born in Jennings County to the late Adam and Laura (Carr) Sandhage.
Private family graveside services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 2 at Four Corners Cemetery.
On October 17, 1955, at Four Corners, Indiana, Carolyn married Frank Edward Prewitt. Carolyn was a devoted and involved member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She graduated from Hayden High School and then attended business school. Once her children were of school age, she worked as an administrative assistant at Ben Franklin. Carolyn loved reading, especially Danielle Steele novels and family gatherings around the holidays.
Carolyn was the most loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family meant the world to her. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 64 years; daughter, Lisa (Doug) Cline; sons, James (Crystal) Prewitt, Andrew (Anita) Prewitt, Craig (Stephanie) Prewitt; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; siblings, Martha Sandhage Porter and Charles (Coralie) Sandhage.
Memorials may be written to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or Lutheran Community Home Memory Care Unit, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

Dear Frank and kids, I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Carolyn. She was such a sweet lady and always made me feel welcome and comfortable anytime I was around her. I know during these times it is so difficult to start with but then having to deal with the loss of your dear sweet wife and mother I'm sure is a heavy burden to bear. Ironically, I sent this picture to Carolyn’s great granddaughter, Ali last Tuesday. Carolyn and Frank really loved celebrating Halloween with the children. In this picture is Frank, Carolyn, my mother, great grandma Margaret LeComte and Cameron and Ali. She will be missed by so many. Heaven has gained a special angel.

Carolyn was always friendly and so kind to me the few times I met her. My husband, Steve always spoke highly of her. Prayers for comfort and peace during this difficult time of loss are asked for the family. You all have my condolences. Marsha Whipker

Hadn't seen Carolyn in many years but still breaks my heart to hear of her passing . she was without a doubt the true definition of a lady . Carolyn and all the Prewitt family is in my thoughts and prayers .

I remember when Grandma Carolyn and I used to sit in the basement and we would watch the television and play Chinese Checkers. Every time I was around her I would always have so much fun. I love you so much Grandma. You'll be missed so much.
