Mrs. Carolyn “Connie” Hollowell, 86, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Wamego, Kansas on October 27, 1932 to the late Earl and Neidra (Hill) Coulter.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 20 at 1 pm with Dr. Reverend Jeremy Myers and Reverend Larry Tingle officiating. Burial will follow at Azalia Friends Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday from 11 am until time of service. An Eastern Star service will be held at 11 am.
She was a member of Seymour First Baptist Church and Eastern Star. On March 7, 1964, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, she married Gene L. Hollowell; he preceded her in death on December 30, 2016. Connie loved to attend Thursday Afternoon Card Club and crochet prayer shawls for veterans. She was a dedicated employee of JC Penney’s for many years.
She is survived by her children, David (Judie) Anderson, Sherry (Ronald) Quine, Gary Hollowell, and Vicki (Charlie) Harrison; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Donnetta Page.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother; Dave Page; and beloved in-laws, Bill (Barb) Hollowell and Mary (Johnny) Green.

Connie worked with my wife in the First Baptist Church meals ministry and I occasionally worked with Connie. She was a joy to be around, always bringing treats for everybody, had a wonderful sense of humor, and so humble and thoughtful of everyone. Connie epitomized the Christian woman and I will miss her. I am unable to attend the funeral due to work obligations, but wanted the family to know how much I thought of their mother.
