Catherine Louise Gay Stout, 91, of Seymour, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Autumn Trace Caring Facility in Seymour. Catherine was born in Brownstown, Indiana on June 28, 1929, the daughter of the late David and Alma (Fleener) Foster. She married William R. Stout on June 28, 1968 at Seymour First Church of the Nazarene.
Catherine enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, games, music and traveling. She spent over 30 years as Activity Director and member of Seymour Community Center. During this time, she enjoyed many trips, including Hawaii. She was an active member of Seymour 107 Club and Seymour Calvary Baptist Church.
Catherine is survived by her brother, Kenneth (Sallie) Foster; children, Larry Gay, Kay Gay-Philpot (Calvin), Douglas Lee Gay; stepchildren, Jimmy (Linda) Stout, Rita Stout-Rigsby (Dan), Ronnie Stout as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, son: Garry Wayne Gay, brother: Wilbur Foster, sisters: Mildred Foster-Blankenship, Delores Foster-Miller, and Hazel Foster-Miranda.
Private family funeral services for Catherine will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service with Rev. Dan Defriece officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their final respects to Catherine at a walk-through visitation at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required before admittance to the funeral home as well as social distancing within the building. We kindly ask that there be no physical contact such as hugs or handshakes to protect staff and the family. Attendance is limited to 25 people at any given time.
Memorials may be written to Hospice of Schneck Medical Center, Calvary Baptist Church, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
