Charles “Chuck” E. Olson

February 6, 1933 - April 22, 2020

Charles E. Olson, BACADAII, 87, of Seymour, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. He was born in Gross Point, Michigan to the late Clarence Olson and Evelyn (Geuntt) Olson.
A private funeral service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date to celebrate Chuck’s life with his family and friends.
He graduated with a Master’s in Psychology from Cornell in 1955 and worked as a substance abuse counselor. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and Jackson County Leadership.
He is survived by his children, Gary Olson and Bruce Olson; his stepchildren, Jennifer Byfield, Courtney Biddle, and Katie Nelson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as his AA Fellowship Friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brien Olson; and two stepsons, Andrew Byfield and Chris Byfield.
Memorials may be written to the Seymour Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

What a gentle and generous soul you had Chuck! I missed losing touch with him after going to college. He was a fantastic guy that helped so many of us kids form paper routes and find our confidence in ourselves. Thanks for taking the chance on us. All the outings, and time teaching us to reveal in small things; it still shines in us now. Rest easy. Much love from one half of the dynamic Carrow sisters

So sorry for your loss. I met Chuck while I am serving at the First Presbyterian Church. He always had a story for me and made me smile. I will miss visiting with him when He would come to the office after AA meeting. Cheryl Bowser

Chuck was an amazing soul, he helped so many people as well as tried to help so many others. He will always hold a special place in my heart along with all who had the pleasure to know him.
