Charlie Quillen, 90, of Columbus, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Willow Crossing Nursing Home. He was born in 1928 in Spruce Pine, Alabama to the late Tommie and Lolie Lee (Thompson) Quillen.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday, December 16 at 1 pm with Pastor Bryan Gilroy officiating. Burial will follow at Daugherty Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday from 11 am until time of service.
On October 8, 1954, in Columbus, he married Harriett Eudy; she survives. Charlie was a member of Garden City Church of Christ where he was active in Golden Harvesters for many years. He retired from Cosco after many years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; serving from 1950-1952.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Harriett Quillen; children, Kevin Quillen (Dorothy Carey) and Brett (Debbie) Quillen; grandchildren, Travis (Stephanie) Quillen and Amanda (Jason) Schreier; great-grandchildren, Jaren Schreier, Josie Schreier, Landry Quillen and Brantley Quillen; brothers, Raymond Quillen and Frank Quillen; and sister, Polly Quillen.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Annie Morrow; and brothers, Calvin Quillen, Clayton Quillen, T.M. Quillen and infant brother, John Quillen.
