Clara Mae Weaver, 84, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on February 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Clara graduated from Crothersville High School in 1954 where she was a varsity basketball player and varsity cheerleader. She also graduated from Johnson Bible College and Beauty College of Louisville. She was a beautician and owned her own beauty shop in Crothersville, Indiana. Later, she was a tutor in the Seymour Community School System for 30 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, completing puzzles, and reading. Clara was known for her gardening and canning and giving to others in abundance. She loved helping at local churches such as Cortland Christian Church, Warren Christian Church, Reddington Christian Church, Seymour Christian Church and Calvary Christian Church of Edinburgh. She was a member of the Women’s Christian Missionary Society at Reddington Christian Church. Clara also spent her time assisting at the Clothing Center and was a youth instructor at Reddington and Seymour Christian Churches . Clara was fervent and devoted to our Lord and Savior as she read the Bible completely each year.

Clara was born in 1936 to the late Emerson Mosley and Freda (Chandler) Mosley in Crothersville, who preceded her in death.

On August 10, 1956 at the Crothersville Christian Church, she married Rev. William “Bill” Weaver who survives.

Clara is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rev. William “Bill” Weaver, daughter Marsha (David) Branco, sons David (Julie) Weaver, and Dan (Amy) Weaver; grandchildren Kristal (Nate) Biehle, Adrienne (Kyle) Conoyer, Neel Weaver, Alicia Weaver, Eric (Caitlin) Pitts, Hannah Weaver and Sam Weaver; great grandchildren Taylor Easton, Hayden Weaver, Desmond Pitts, Ryder Biehle, Delaney Weaver, Melody Pitts and Flora Pitts.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Melody Cay Weaver, parents, brothers Gordon Mosley, Lawrence Mosley, and Homer Mosley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial check be written to the Johnson University with the earmark for the Bill and Clara Weaver Scholarship Fund. Those can be given to Voss and Sons Funeral Service or Seymour Christian Church.

A walk through visitation will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Seymour Christian Church at 1:30pm with Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Service will be live streamed through Seymour Christian Church Facebook page.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required as well as social distancing within the building. Cards and notes of condolence are most welcome. Clara will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Clara Mae was a world class servant of Christ. While I interned there the Weavers were like my family away from home. It was one of the best summers of my life. Bro. Bill and Clara Mae were excellent. Excellent to learn from, to study under, to follow and serve Christ alongside. and to imitate as I grew in Christ. She was the sweetest soul. I remember Danny and I were watching a fight and Dan kept saying, "Slap him..draw blood..." and Clara Mae was sitting in the next room grimacing because she couldn't stand boxing (which Dan knew and egged the situation on). She's with the Lord now having heard the words, "Well done good and faithful servant." She's got her crown and is enjoying the presence of the Lord fully now.

Clara Mae and I go a long ways back. When our youngest were in grade school, Clara Mae and I were tutors in 2 different schools. Jr. High and High School. So we decided that one week she would drive and pick me up and the next week I would drive and pick her up and we would go to work. Then after school we would pick her Dan up and my Missy and Stacey. We did this many years. It was fun! Glad to be a good friend of Clara Mae's. Prayers for the family! Bev Ruddick

Bill and Family, so sorry to hear of Clara's passing, we know that she will be greatly missed. I (Sonja) have fond memories of eating around your dinner table during mission rallies/weekends at Reddington Christian Church - what a blessing! I always enjoyed the stories of "college days" for you all, Dad & Mom (Al & Annette) and the Sichtings! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all! Marsha and family. We are so sorry to hear of dear Clara's passing because we know how she will be missed. But we have to hope of meeting up with her in heaven on day. I worked with Clara at SHS. She was the kindest, sweetest, most patient person I've ever known. Always a ray of sunshine! Her students were lucky to have her.
