Clara Mae Weaver, 84, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on February 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Clara graduated from Crothersville High School in 1954 where she was a varsity basketball player and varsity cheerleader. She also graduated from Johnson Bible College and Beauty College of Louisville. She was a beautician and owned her own beauty shop in Crothersville, Indiana. Later, she was a tutor in the Seymour Community School System for 30 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, completing puzzles, and reading. Clara was known for her gardening and canning and giving to others in abundance. She loved helping at local churches such as Cortland Christian Church, Warren Christian Church, Reddington Christian Church, Seymour Christian Church and Calvary Christian Church of Edinburgh. She was a member of the Women’s Christian Missionary Society at Reddington Christian Church. Clara also spent her time assisting at the Clothing Center and was a youth instructor at Reddington and Seymour Christian Churches . Clara was fervent and devoted to our Lord and Savior as she read the Bible completely each year.
Clara was born in 1936 to the late Emerson Mosley and Freda (Chandler) Mosley in Crothersville, who preceded her in death.
On August 10, 1956 at the Crothersville Christian Church, she married Rev. William “Bill” Weaver who survives.
Clara is survived by her husband of 64 years, Rev. William “Bill” Weaver, daughter Marsha (David) Branco, sons David (Julie) Weaver, and Dan (Amy) Weaver; grandchildren Kristal (Nate) Biehle, Adrienne (Kyle) Conoyer, Neel Weaver, Alicia Weaver, Eric (Caitlin) Pitts, Hannah Weaver and Sam Weaver; great grandchildren Taylor Easton, Hayden Weaver, Desmond Pitts, Ryder Biehle, Delaney Weaver, Melody Pitts and Flora Pitts.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Melody Cay Weaver, parents, brothers Gordon Mosley, Lawrence Mosley, and Homer Mosley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial check be written to the Johnson University with the earmark for the Bill and Clara Weaver Scholarship Fund. Those can be given to Voss and Sons Funeral Service or Seymour Christian Church.
A walk through visitation will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Seymour Christian Church at 1:30pm with Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Service will be live streamed through Seymour Christian Church Facebook page.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required as well as social distancing within the building. Cards and notes of condolence are most welcome. Clara will be deeply missed by family and friends.
