Mrs. Connie Jean LaFollette “Fluff” Poer, 50, of North Vernon, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Connie was born in Dearborn County on September 27, 1966, the daughter of Robert Gene and Margaret (Kappes) LaFollette.

She was a Regional Dispatch Manager for the Indiana State Police where she dedicated over 30 years, she attended First Christian Church of North Vernon, and graduated from South Dearborn High school, class of 1984. She enjoyed visiting lighthouses all over the U.S. and collecting lighthouse figurines, and vacationing in Mackinaw City, Michigan and the mountains of Gatlinburg. She was a great baker and Christmas was her favorite season to bake and provide treats for her family and friends. She enjoyed watching several crime shows on TV, and playing with her dogs Roxie and Dottie.
She married Randy L. Poer on July 11, 2009 in Brown County, IN.
Connie is survived by her mother, husband, a son, Douglas Arthur Yeary, a daughter, Sophia Kaitlin Yeary, a step-daughter Sylvia Poer, a brother, Dale (Melissa) LaFollette, one granddaughter, Callela Waltz, and a nephew, Jason LaFollette

Funeral service will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:30 am, with Pastor Anthony Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery.
Family and Friends may call at Voss & Sons on Wednesday September 6, from 2 to 8 PM and on Thursday September 7, from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
Memorial checks may be written to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

So, sorry, you will truly be missed, I started with ISP in 1987 and Connie was there anytime I need anything. Prayers to the family. May she rest in peace.

You were a great radio dispatcher and had a lot of great times Bill Nunn

Connie "Fluff" was the best. She was the best in many ways. She deeply cared about her family and friends and it showed. I know she was a dedicated and loving mother, wife and friend. I met Fluff on my first day the post in 1995 and have considered her a good friend since that day. Fluff was funny and loved to have cut up but when she wanted you to do something she, at times, was all business. You never wanted to get to sure of yourself around Fluff because it wouldn't take long and she would humble you a little. Fluff deeply cared about her co-workers and all those she protected so diligently for so many years. When someone needed Fluff she was there! She truly had your back. I know she saved my rear multiple times. Fluff was always there in times of need. When I had a bad car crash in 1998 Fluff showed up at the hospital in the middle of the night with food for my family. She was a true friend and fiercely loyal to those who meant so much to her. That is why she will be so missed by so many. I sure will miss seeing her and laughing about silly things, joking around and talking about our kids. I got to see her a couple of weeks ago and was still able to share some of those laughs. When we talk about the ISP being family it truly was in Fluff's eyes. It was a real privilege to know and work with Fluff. We can all learn so much from people like her. Fluff was the best. She is not in pain any longer. May God always his hands on her and her family. The citizenry has lost one if its best servants of public safety and left a legacy to follow. May Connie be at peace with our Lord and continue that service with Him. We have lost a hero, but now we have another angel. God Bless and thank you Connie.

RIP Connie. You were a great friend, boss and awesome dispatcher. You were an amazing mentor to all of us. I am truly going to miss hearing you on the radio. Thank you for your service and spread those beautiful angel wings and soar to heaven. GOD's gonna need you to help keep the angels in line up there. It's with a heavy heart we take this loss of a friend. After learning of her battle we prayed Connie would recover, but for some reason unknown to us, she was called to her Heavenly home. We pray for her hubby, children, family, and countless friends to be comforted knowing she had such an impact on others' lives. The memories shared will always be comforting.
