Dale Swider

Mr. Dale Edward Swider, 80, of Seymour passed away Monday March 23, at Schneck Medical Center. Dale was born on November 23, 1934 in Indianapolis Indiana. The son of the late Edward and Grace (Williams) Swider. Dale married Donna Walker on July 3, 1954 in Mitchell, Indiana. Donna passed away on September 8, 2008. Dale was passionate about 2 things in his life, his family and his career with the Indiana State Police. He was hired on Feburary 1, 1960 and after dedication, 20 years of service he retired February 21, 1980 as the District Commander First Sgt of the Seymour Post. Dale loved to have fun, and enjoyed playing poker with his friends. When summer came around, he would spend many days relaxing by a pond and fishing.

He is survived by his children: Dale (Kim) Swider, Dalona (Boe) Hampton, Mark (Caroline) Swider, Brett (Buffy) Swider, and Kim (Darren) Judge, 12 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Judy Dobson, Cathy Jarrett, Peggy Jo Cannon, and Patricia Ellis.

He is preceded by his parents and loving wife.

Funeral services for Dale will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 1 pm at Voss Chapel. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Monday, March 30, 2015, and Tuesday 12 noon until the time of service.
Memorials may be given to Don and Dana Meyers Cancer Center.
