David Joe Rumph, 69, of Seymour, passed away September 12, 2014.
He was born May 24, 1945 in Jackson County. He was the son of Samuel Irvin and Leona (Fish) Rumph.
Dave was an avid farmer and enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking and spending time in Florida. He is 1 of 4 individuals to start Holm Industries in Scottsburg. Dave also enjoyed traveling to help build homes for Habitat for Humanity.
Mr. Rumph is survived by his father, children; Nancy (Larry) Waltz, Stacey (Scott) Chasteen, Juvona Jo Rumph, Kimberly (Chad) Pagel, Mindy (Cody) Bailey and Heather (Todd) Beesley, grandchildren; Tanner and Baley Waltz, Austin and Taylor Sutton, Megan Bailey, Aly, Ian, Ramey and Ladan Templeton, Logan and Levi Pagel, brother; Larry (Linda) Rumph, sister; Linda (Dennis) Rust and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother and brother Jerry Dale Rumph.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 16, 11 AM at Voss Chapel, with Rev. Bill Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Reddington Cemetery with a Voss Dove release.
Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel Monday, September 15 from 4PM to 8PM and also Tuesday after 9AM until time of service.
Memorials may be written to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Habitat for Humanity.
