Deloris A. “Dee” Plumer, 84 of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana.
Born June 4, 1932, in Hayden, Indiana, she was the daughter of Willard New and Eva Julie (Burgess) Coryell.
On August 10, 1952, at the Central Christian Church in Seymour, she married Donald “Joe” Plumer.
Dee was a member of the Central Christian Church in Seymour for over 70 years where she had been assistant treasurer for six years, a member of the Loyal Devoir, and was an elected Elder Emeritus. She was also a member of Tri Kappa Sorority. Dee worked for Indiana Telephone and Contel for 30 years until her retirement. She then went to work at Progressive Physical Therapy where she retired.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children: Belinda Hays, Betty Jane (Tom) Clark and Todd (Nan) Plumer; grandchildren: Matt (Malinda) Plumer, Erin (Benji) Reinhart, Lauren (Luke) Espelund, Drew (Alli) Clark, Taylor Hays (Jalen Ulrey), Maddie Hays, Chase Asbell (Kelli) Plumer and Sam Plumer; great-grandchildren: Laney Reinhart, Max Reinhart, Nora Clark, Lucy and Harper Espelund, and Cali Plumer; a sister, Betty Beardsley, a daughter-in-law, Laura Plumer, a brother-in-law, Ed Sinkes and a sister-in-law, Jane Coryell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary Plumer, brother, Raymond Coryell, sisters: Mabel Gerth, Gladys Sinkes and Mary Cundiff; brothers-in-law: Eldo Gerth, Herb Cundiff and Jack Beardsley; and great-grandchildren: Emma Espelund and Asher Espelund.
Funeral service will be held at Central Christian Church, 1434 West 2nd Street, Seymour, Indiana, on Friday, September 30, 2016, at 6:30 pm with Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date.
Friends and family may gather at Central Christian Church on Friday after 4:00 pm until time of service at 6:30 pm.
