Donald Louis “Jack Rabbit” Reynolds, Sr., 71 of Seymour, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Lutheran Community Home.
He was born November 12, 1943, in Memphis, Indiana, the son of the late Samuel and Beulah McKinney Reynolds.
Don married his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Elaine Ricker on April 18, 1964, in Kittery, Maine, and she survives.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served in the Navy on the USS Aeolus from 1961 – 1964 and retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1995 after 30 years. Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of the Scott County Coon Hunter’s Club. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and all sports. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play sports and traveled with them to all the different towns. Family meant the world to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought many smiles and lots of laughter to his life. He also met with his friends at Hardee’s every morning for coffee.
Donald is survived by his wife, their children, Shelli (Joe) Wohlhieter, Donald (Latisha) Reynolds, Jr., George (Christel) Reynolds, Eddie (Luann) Reynolds, and Tammy (Brian) Jones; grandchildren, Joseph Wohlhieter III, Heather (Brian) Haaland, Holly (Dan) Wohlhieter, Hope (Brent) Beanblossom, Jacob Reynolds, Taylor Reynolds, Chandler Reynolds, Bailey Reynolds, Donald Reynolds III, Antoinette Reynolds, Chris Cluck, Jeff Cluck, Karina Smith, and Ben Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Malachi Wohlhieter, Jeremiah Haaland, Ranger Haaland, O’Rhian Beanblossom, Dakota Beanblossom, Sophia Rodriguez, and Nicholas Rodriguez; a sister, Edith Bowling, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Phillip Reynolds, and a sister, Rachel Goodman.
Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at 4 pm with Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez officiating, with visitation to follow until 8:00 pm.
