The Luecke family gave me my first "real" high school job in 1975 working with Dave at the store. I'll always remember Don watching IU basketball on Saturday afternoons during lulls in traffic in the showroom. To say Don was an enthusiastic fan would be a huge understatement! My sincere sympathy to Audrey and all Don's family.

Don gave me my first job in high school in the late 70s. He had me helping in the back warehouse, where the appliances are now, putting letters on the sign, helping deliver console TVs to customers installing them in their house, selling the selection of Radio Shack products, and occasionally showing the stereos. I bought my first Stereo from him-Optonica. TVs had vacuum tubes in them back then. They would go out. The store had a service area that fixed them. Which, mainly involved putting in new vacuum tubes. His Dad and Gary Cassidy took care of this area. I kept the vacuum tubes on a shelve in order and type. Great times. Great guy. Great family.

As a vendor to the store, Don was an icon of fairness and respect within the dealer network. He was always educated and organized, respectful and demanding in all the right balance. He mentored other dealerships in how to do it the "right way" and gave generously of his time and council. As a friend, he always had a smile. He and Audrey - together were quick to include anyone and everyone in their activities and their loving nature. We will miss him and the good times shared. Jim and Jennifer Price

We have known Don all his life because we were great friends with his parents, Luck and Evelyn. Our sons worked at Luecke TV & Sound and we all knew Don’s brothers and sister. We want to extend our condolences to Don’s entire family and we pray for strength and peace for them in this difficult time. - Cletus and Luella Mackey

A very early memory of mine of Don is when I was on leave from the Marine Corps in the early 60s. His mother, Evelyn, asked me to take Don to the Dentist. When we were walking on the sidewalk, Don took my hand. A kid had never taken my hand before that I could remember. It was a really nice feeling and I thought it would be nice to have a kid of my own.

Great friend from IU beginning in 1972, one of the few I have kept in touch with not only as a friend but with great admiration for Don as a human being. He had the courage to stand up for his beliefs which was difficult then and so glad he shared his life with a loving wife and children and grandchildren. I will miss this wonderful human being but Heaven is a little brighter today. Thanks Don.
