Mr. Earl Reynold McCammon, 98, of Seymour passed away at Lutheran Community Home on Monday, June 02, 2014.
Born March 24, 1916, in Jennings County, IN, he was the son of Albert Reynold and Matel (Barnes) McCammon.
On April 3, 1937, in Crothersville, IN. he married Edna Marie Hall.
Earl was a member of FirstMarionBaptistChurch in Commiskey and was a retired Deacon of the church. He also taught Sunday school classes for many years. He graduated from ShieldsHigh School. After graduation, he farmed, worked at Morgan Canning Factory, Dupont Army Powder Plant and then retired after 34 ½ years with Arvin, Industries.
He enjoyed time with his family, going to auctions, garage sales, traveling and working crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Edna, his daughter: Rita Jo (Joseph) Deppen: grandchildren: Jill (Scott) Deppen Christopher, Julia (Bryan) Deppen Bowman, Sonya McCammon Foster, Michael McCammon, Richard McCammon and David McCammon. He has several great-grandchildren with five living in the local area, Adelyn, Gavin and Alaina Bowman: Ella and Evan Christopher. He also has one surviving sister, Rosalie McCammon Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his parents: son: Earl Richard McCammon, sisters: Milicent (McCammon) Robbins and Mildred McCammon, and a brother: James Leonard McCammon.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 5 at 11am at FirstMarionBaptistChurch, with Rev. Jeff Hood and Rev. Jerry Johnson, officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 4-8pm at Voss Chapel and Thursday at the church from 10 am until time of service.
Burial will follow at FirstMarionBaptistChurchCemetery with a dove release.
