Ellis Rowe

September 15, 1945 - June 19, 2014

Mr. Ellis Rowe, 68, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday June 18, 2014 at Lutheran Community Home.

Born September 15, 1945, in Arton, West Virginia, he is the son of Henderson and Frances Rowe.

In October 30, 1972 in Virginia he married Claudine West who survives.

Ellis was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing, shooting guns, and just being with his family.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children: Wayne Rowe, Ginger Rowe, Timothy Rowe, Rhonda (Roger) Stratton, and Matthew (Jennifer) Rowe; and his grandchildren: Josh and Jacob Rowe, Kaitlynn Rowe and Emmett Stratton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Sunday June 22, 2014 at 3:30 PM with Rev. Paul Newman officiating.

A graveside service will be held Monday June 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Sunday June 22, 2014 from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Tim, I'm sorry to hear of your dad's passing. No other father of my schoolmates attended more practices and games than he did for you and Matt. He was leaning on that sideline fence more times than I can remember. Thinking of your family. Love you, brother.

My friend Ellis and I both started our businesses in 1982. Our businesses, mine Ideal Cleaning and his Seymour Pest Control, were successful. However, dealing with the public could be very stressful, so in order to relax and unwind we would ride our horses around the Brownstown Forestry, with a group of friends. Ellis truly loved horses and later bought a beautiful Tennessee Walker and I bought an Arabian which we often rode together. He is truly missed and my goal for the rest of my life is to live for God so that I can one day be with my best friend Ellis again in Heaven.
