Mr. George Lindsay Adams, 72, of Seymour, passed away August 13, 2014 at Our Hospice, Columbus IN, after a lengthy illness.

George was born on March 9, 1942 in Mayking KY, he was the son of William and Emma (Belcher) Adams.

On Nov. 19, 1983 in Louisville KY, he married Patricia Maria Lockman who survives.

George retired from International Harvester in 1991 and from Baird Homes in 2012. He loved his dog Levi and restoring cars. He was a “Mr. Fix-it” his motto was “if it’s not broke don’t fix it”.

He is survived by children: Brian (Bobbi) Adams, Georgetta Richardson (Willis Tucker); Step daughters: Jennifer (Joe) Sawyer, Lisa (Mike) Daily; 3 grandchildren; Jessica Adams, Sean and Tyler Richardson, 3 step grandchildren, Kayla Barnett, Justin Smith and Michael Epps. 2 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. Sisters: Jacqueline Fields and Melda Polley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Joe Adams; and sisters: Lou Ella Wampler and Ella Mae Budd, and step daughter Michele Smith.

Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Sunday August 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM with eulogy by Brother Chris Beverly.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery Brownstown.

Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, and also after 10:00 AM until time of service on Sunday.

I have many happy memories of my uncle George. We are only one year apart in age and as we got older, George would always ask me, which of us is older. I was a year younger. When we were very young, our family had traveled up to Mayking to visit. We were headed out to play, George, myself and my younger sister. We were cautioned not to get in the creek as they had been dredging in it. Well needless to say, we got in and I slipped down in the deep part that had been dredged and were it not for George Lindsey, might have been swept away. I always loved the time I got to spend up in Mayking with Grandma and pa and my pal George.
