My sister Missy ( Michelle Engle) had Melvin as her patient. He has come to birthday parties, cookouts & he even had dinner at my house one evening. I thought a lot of Melvin. He was a sweet man, & he will be greatly missed! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Linda Peden, Rob Nicosia, & Peighton

When I was 11 years old my parents (Loren and Zethel Gorman) and my older sister Lana along with Uncle Jake and Aunt Ann took a whole month to travel to California for a family reunion. I have many fond memories from that trip, they both were always such sweet soft spoken people. I still smile when I think of the time that we had stopped the vehicle because Uncle Jake wanted to look at a Rattle snake that was crossing the road. As Uncle Jake was inching closer to the snake in front of the vehicle we honked the horn at him and scared him so that he jumped. This picture is such a great picture because to me this is how I remember my Uncle Jake. He was always laid back and smiling. I will always treasure that trip and the fond memories of them both!

I loved the video! What I loved most about it was seeing him living life to the fullest with you kids and Ann! Cousin Jake was always a big part of our lives....so was Ann. It is so hard to let go of those we grew up with. Your mom and dad stopped by and visited with me right before Ann went in the nursing home. We even bumped into them at Spring Mill. I took pictures that day. I will find them and share them with you. Love and prayers to you all. Cindy

I'm so sorry for your loss. I only met Melvin for a short time. His stories of his travels and our trips around were always so interesting and he was so happy about everything to do with life and family.
