Gladys L. Weasner passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2018 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, Indiana. She was born in 1913 in Jennings County to Frank and Ruth (Carr) Nichter. She attended school in Redding Township District 6, graduating from the 8th grade on May 16, 1928. She married Clyde Weasner in Scottsburg, Indiana on September 14, 1935.
Funeral will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour, Indiana on Monday, February 4 at 1 PM with viewing starting prior to the service at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
A lifelong Christian she attended church services over the years at First United Methodist Church in Seymour, Rockford United Methodist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour. She was employed at the Seymour Woolen Mill and Dicksons, Inc., however most her life she was a housewife and homemaker. She loved her garden and gardening, playing Euchre, hunting mushrooms, sewing, knitting, crocheting and fishing with her son David. She was at one time a collector of Teddy Bears. A lifelong area resident she lived in Bobtown, Seymour and Jonesville.
She is survived by three sons, Daniel Lynn Weasner, David Lee Weasner and Dean Louis Weasner, and sister, Esther Nichter (Wilkes); grandsons Stuart Lucas Weasner and Douglas Kelly Weasner; and granddaughter Deborah Knowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, half-brother, Lawrence Nichter; brothers Charles and Willard Nichter; sisters, Hazel Nichter (James A. Butcher), Huldah Nichter (James C. Butcher), Ruby Nichter (Albert Toborg), Muriel Nichter (John Carr); a granddaughter Diane Weasner.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Seymour. Memorials in lieu of flowers are encouraged.
