Mrs. Glenna Marie Rigsby, of Seymour, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center. She was born in Seymour to the late Glen and Marie (Zumhingst) Taskey.
As per her wishes, a graveside service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Riverview Cemetery on Monday, May 20 at 11 am with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. A memorial luncheon will be held at 107 Club (Seymour Community Center, 107 S. Chestnut St.) on Sunday, May 26 from 1-5 pm.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. On March 14, 1948, she married Raymond Rigsby; he preceded her in death on May 24, 1990. After high school, she moved to Washington DC for a job at Bureau of Labor & Statistics before returning to work at Camp Atterbury a year later. The following year, she went to work for Cosco and retired from there in 1985. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and 107 Club.
Glenna enjoyed traveling and went on many trips over the years. She visited Germany, England, France and Italy although she kept her eyes closed through the Alps; went west to see Yellowstone and Mt. Rushmore, which she claimed as one of the best; Washington D.C. and Philadelphia; a special trip to Canada where she visited the home of “Anne of Green Gables” and Nova Scotia where she paid her respects to many victims of the Titanic; as well as trips to Norfolk, VA, Ashville, NC, Pensacola, FL, Myrtle Beach, SC, Pennsylvania Amish Country, Biloxi, MS, and a tulip festival in Michigan.
Glenna is survived by her children, Richard (Susan) Rigsby, Debbie McCullough and Regan (Carrie) Rigsby; grandchildren, Brent Rigsby, Haley Rigsby, Michael McCullough and Shawn McCullough; great-grandchildren, Katheryn Engle and Kiersten Engle; 7 step-grandchildren; and sister, Regina Osborne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Bob Taskey, Edward Taskey and Jerry Taskey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be written to 107 Club or Don & Dana Myers Cancer Center, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
