Gregory Michael Spencer, 26, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Seymour, Indiana, on Aug. 3, 2017.
Greg was born April 19, 1991, in La Porte, Indiana, where he graduated from La Porte High School in 2010. He then attended Vincennes University, graduating with a degree in Cad Design. He was employed by Cummins-Allis as a Mechanical Engineering Drafting Technician at the Seymour engine plant. He worked for Cummins-Allis for over five years and was a dedicated and well-respected employee.
Greg was a talented artist who liked to sketch and play chess. He played the drums and could also play the piano by ear, composing several tunes himself. He loved to fish and hunt, and one of his favorite past-times was an annual Thanksgiving Day pheasant hunting trip with his father and brother. He loved spending time with his many friends, whether it was attending a Bears game or just hanging out together; they were truly like family to him.
Greg is survived by his father, Mike (Sherry) Spencer of La Porte; his mother, Ann (Randy) Hoover of Walkerton; his sister, Stephanie (Eric) Krone of La Porte; his brother, Seth Spencer of La Porte; nieces, Kira and Sylvie Krone; his grandmothers, Pauline Spencer and Angela Demoret, both of LaPorte.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Robert Spencer and James Demoret. He leaves behind many other dear relatives and friends.
Greg was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
He will be buried with his grandfather, Robert Spencer at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte. Friends and family are welcome to attend a memorial service planned for Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 4 p.m CST at Agape Christian Church, 1601 “I” St, La Porte, Indiana, with Pastor Rod Nielsen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Suicide Prevention Action Network USA.
