Guy Lee Quate, 62, of North Vernon, IN, passed away on June 14, 2021, at Schneck Medical Center in
Seymour, IN, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 31, 1959, in Vincennes, IN, to the late William Neil and Iris June (Bowers) Quate. Guy
was a retired welder. He loved to be outdoors and was an avid mushroom hunter and fisherman. He was a lover
of music (especially The Beatles and Black Sabbath), attended as many concerts as he could, and especially
enjoyed playing his guitar, of which he had many.
He is survived by his daughters: Crystal Quate (Chris Hockaday), and their son, Desmond; Jamie Quate (Eric
Willey) and their son, Hunter. Sisters: Julia Pharris (Dennis Pharris), of Bedford, IN; Lila Al-Raee (Emad
Al-Raee), of Largo, FL; Linda Capuano (Rob Capuano), of Tampa, FL. Brothers: David Quate (Aleta Quate), of
Brownstown, IN; and Keith Quate of Clearspring, IN. He also had many nieces and nephews and
great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with Guy’s wishes, cremation services are being provided by Voss & Sons Funeral Service and
Crematory. There will be no public viewing, only a small family ceremony. Remembrances can be made in the
form of donations to the American Cancer Society or the World Wildlife Fund. A Celebration of Life will be
held at a later date.
