Helen Aurene Snyder passed away at the Lutheran Community Home on Saturday, June 17, at the age of 93.
She was the daughter of George and Hilda Frey Thomas. On April 23, 1944, she married Paul H. Snyder at St. John�s Lutheran Church, Sauers. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Helen graduated from Brownstown High School in 1942. Helen worked at GC Murphy�s in Seymour, belonged to Sauers Home Ec Club, and was a charter member of Ladies Aid #4 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She and Paul liked to travel and made it to all 50 states.
Helen is survived by three children, Thomas (Marcia) Snyder, Nancy (Keith) Graser, and Judy (Jay) Field; three grandchildren, Jenny Snyder, Aaron (Hilary) Whaley, and Chris (Jennifer) Snyder; four great grandchildren, Abby and Lila Whaley, and Owen and Paul Snyder; and brothers, Donald (Mary) Thomas and Lowell (Ruth) Thomas.
Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and Hugo Thomas; and her sister Mabel VonDielingen Goecker.
The funeral service will be conducted by Voss & Sons on Wednesday, June 21, at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch, the Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez and Vicar Joel Newton, officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Community Home or the donor’s choice of charities.
