Mr. Herbert “Herb” Engelking, 52 of Seymour passed away at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at home.
Herb was born in Seymour, Indiana on November 16, 1964, the son of the late Lawrence R. and Ester A. (Foster) Engelking.
He retired after 21 years with Lucas Ackerman Hardware in Brownstown where he was the manager of the lumber yard.
He loved to work with his hands, as he would build log cabins, lamps and several crafts that you could hang on the wall. He was even well engaged with the computer.
On August 10, 2014, he married Vickie Burrell, in Seymour.
Herb leaves behind his wife, three daughters: Amanda Jo Engelking, Scierra (Timothy) Dill and Jessica (Gary) Hanner; four grandchildren, three step-children: Misti (Timm) Wieneke, Kristi (Tim) Brock and Mindi (Aaron) Delph; eight step-grandchildren, one sister: Anita Engleking, five brothers: Richard L., Lawrence E., Mark W., Russell E. and James “Jimmy” Engelking, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Kidd.
Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016, with Rev. Mark Hafenbreidel officiating. Burial will follow at First Marion Baptist Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., and Monday after 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
