Mr. Homer L. Mosley, 83 of Seymour, formerly of Crothersville, passed away peacefully, with his family and friends by his side on Sunday, January 8th, 2017, in Seymour.
He was born in Crothersville, on August 9, 1933, the son of the late Emerson and Freda (Chandler) Mosley.
After graduating from Crothersville High School, class of 1951, Homer joined the United States Army, where he served his country with honor. He then went to work for Arvins Industry for 23 years in Seymour. When Arvins closed, he then went to work for Cummins Engine Company, where he retired after several years of service. Homer was not one to be idle; he then went to work for Cummins Electronics for a few years.
Homer was a perfectionist and very detailed as it was passed over to hobbies of scroll saw work and woodworking. He loved the detail work and final results of pure craftsmanship. He enjoyed gardening and keeping things clean and neat around the house.
Homer was an avid bird hunter and loved running his dogs and hunting with his life long friend and army buddy Bob Monroe.
He leaves behind his companion of 44 years Carolyn Sue Brittain, son Kirby L. Mosley, daughter in law Kathy Mosley, granddaughters, Sarah (Pat) Gerth and Sandra Mosley, sister, Clara (Rev. Bill) Weaver, extended family Mark Brittain (Grace McDonald) and Duane (Tammy) Brittain, several nieces and nephews, and sisters in laws
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gordon and Lawrence Mosley, son, Keith Mosley, daughter in law Karen Mosley, granddaughter, and extended family Twilia and Darryl Brittain.
Family and friends may call at Voss Chapel on Thursday, January 12th from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel on Thursday, January 12th at 6:30 p.m., with Rev Scott Brown, officiating and Rev. Bill Weaver assisting. Military honor guard will present the flag with taps at Voss Chapel on Thursday following the funeral service, conducted by the VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, DAV, Korean and Vietnam Veterans.
Burial will follow at a later date at Crothersville Cemetery.
