Mr. Howard “Luke” Luker, 86, of Sarasota, Florida, previously of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in Columbus, Indiana. He was born in Indianapolis on October 17, 1931 to the late Walter and Adella (Newkirk) Luker.
Luke was a retired CPA who spent his entire career at KPMG, formerly Peat, Marwick & Mitchell in Indianapolis, retiring in 1989 as a Partner. After his retirement, he was instrumental in the opening of Seymour Express Carwash.
He married Dorothy “Dot” Rebber in 1956 and is survived by his six children, Elizabeth Harling (Tom), Julia Kiel, Cynthia True (Bob), Katharyn Riley (David), Timothy Luker (Carol) and Amy Nagel (Kevin); 14 grandchildren, Amber Townsend, Luke Kiel, Matthew Kiel, Ryan Kiel, Diana Kloiber, Kelsey True, Kim Schroeder, Sarah Happersberger, Allison Riley, Molly Dierlam, Quinn Luker, Shelby Luker, Jackson Nagel and Holly Nagel; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, “Dot”; parents; and brother, James Luker.
Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at 12 noon on Saturday, June 30 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church Waymansville (11750 W County Road 930 S, Columbus, IN 47201) with calling from 11 am and on Friday from 4-8 pm at Voss & Sons Funeral Service (316 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN 47274). Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
