Mr. Jack L. Newkirk, 79, of Seymour, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019. He was born in Seymour to the late Walter and Pearl (Lane) Newkirk.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, November 30 at 10:30 am with Rev. Dan Defriece officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 3-6 pm and Saturday from 9:30 until time of service.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Cummins after 31 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post #89 in Seymour. He lived in Seymour most of his life. He loved traveling and cruising to see the world. He was a workaholic. He loved riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, David (Missy) Newkirk, Tim (Janie) Newkirk, Ron (Lisa) Elkins, Matthew (Trang) Ozbun, Aaron (Lacey) Ozbun; daughters, Lisa Newkirk (Mike Allman), Kim Richards Newkirk, Missy (Rocky) Perry, Patricia (Jeff) Hawks; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donnie (Vicki) Newkirk, Denny (Ellen) Newkirk.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nancy Newkirk, Barb Van Hoene; former spouse, Susie Allman Newkirk.
Memorials may be written to American Legion Post 89, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.

He was and is my special brother in law. He was my special friend. He loved going to gambling boats, lottery ticket's and traveling. But most of all he could make u laugh. We were always welcome in their home. He and I Loved eating at crackel barrel. He so enjoyed shopping. My husband Mark and he were very good friends and both loved riding motorcycles, talking cars ect. Their will always be a special place in our hearts for him. He suffered a longtime and now he has his angel wings. He wasn't perfect but he is and always will be loved. His favorite sister in law Vicki
