Bob Beach left a message on June 8, 2017:
I was saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Hildreth. He was my favorite teacher at Henryville, one of very few people in school who had an impact on me and the one I will never forget. He opened my world to many things, inspired me, taught me a lot. The great band trips to the Mardi Gras and opening day at Disney World are two of the best memories I will always cherish. Mr. Hildreth was not just a teacher but a friend, he always had a corny joke to tell or a funny story. When Mr. Hildreth left Henryville I quit the band, it was my senior year and the new band director was no Jack Hildreth, I really missed seeing him every day. We had a nickname for Mr. Hildreth,"General Jack", I never knew he was so involved with the military, maybe that's why he liked the nickname so much. I always knew Mr. Hildreth had went on to bigger and better things or at least I always hoped he had, had I known he was so close I probably would have visited him over the years. Again I am so sorry for your loss. Rest In Peace General Jack. Bob Beach
