Patty Collins Ward left a message on February 13, 2018:
I was a 5th & 6th grade student at Washington Elementary School around 1971-73 when Mrs. Allen was the librarian. We were new to Natchez schools then, and she was always kind to me and my sister, Lulu, even though I probably wasn't the best behaved student she would've wanted. Reading wasn't my favorite thing to do, but she encouraged me to find subjects of interest so that I did eventually develop a tolerance for the required task.I hope she enjoyed herself immensely in retirement, as she deserved it after being a public school teacher.
