Mr. James E. Bode, 69 of Brownstown, passed away 11:30 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital,Indianapolis.
Jim was born on June 17, 1947 in Seymour, the son of the late Robert Bode and Joyce (Jaynes) Bode Clampitt.
Jim graduated Shields High School and then entered the United States Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. After the War, he then went to work with his father in construction. He started to work for Dura in Brownstown and retired after many years of service.
Jim was a member of the Brownstown Christian Church.
On February 3, 1993, he married Joan E. Parker in Tampico, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, children, Jennifer (Daniel) Freese Drummond, Dana (LaTrisha) Freese, sisters, Judy Woodson and Diana Acree, brother, Robert Bode, Jr. grandchildren Paul Cross, Logan Cross Smith, Ethan Shultz, Hayden Voss, Devin Freese, Gunner and Lariah Neal, Daelyn Freese .
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, February 9th at 11:00 a.m., with Br. Paul Rogers, officiating, assisted by Pastor Daryl Amis.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday after 10 a.m. until time of service.
To follow through with Jim’s request cremation will follow the Funeral at Voss & Sons Crematory and burial will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
