Mr. Jerome (Jerry) Grabinski, 81, of Seymour, passed away December 22, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born in 1939, in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John and Ann (Rusnak) Grabinski. On January 2, 1989 in Seymour, he married Rosalie Stockelman, and she survives.

Jerry graduated from high school and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He then taught high school in Jeffersonville, Indiana. In 1970, he was named Director of Parks and Recreation in Seymour, Indiana. After 4 years he entered local business, serving as owner/operator of Domestic Laundry and Linen Company. He retired in 1995 after 25 years. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post #89, the Seymour Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, and the Seymour Country Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Anthony Grabinski; granddaughter, Nina Odea; stepchildren, Scott and Stacia Mellinger; stepgrandchildren, Keely and Hunter Mellinger; stepgreat-granddaughter, Maryka Lee; sister and her husband, Elaine and Pat Conway; and several nieces and nephews and their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Karen Grabinski.

His pastimes included golf, fishing, boating, gardening, and spending time in Florida with his wife.

He attended church regularly at Immanuel Lutheran with his wife.

A worship service will be conducted for family and close friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. All services have been entrusted to Voss and Sons Funeral Service.

According to CDC guidelines, masks are required for admittance to the service as well as social distancing within the building.
