I enjoyed working with Jerry during our years with Lutheran Hour Ministries. We made many memories while working to reach others with God's Word through the efforts of LHM. His enthusiasm was encouraging to everyone. May the Lord grant comfort and peace to Elinor and their family and friends. I feel truly blessed to have known and worked with him. Loren Volkman

I knew Jerry's family as well as Eleanor's family as a friend of Pam Green of Elizabeth, IN. I had Jerry as an 8th grade teacher at South Central Jr. St. H.S. and enjoyed his class. He was a dedicated teacher, interested in his profession and his students. My sympathy goes out to Eleanor and daughter. M Denise Simon Ellars

Tom & Annette Waldkoetter left a message on March 3, 2021:
Jerry was one of my longest and truest friends. We met the beginning of the 1969-70 school year when I began teaching at Shields Jr. High. We quickly became friends with he and Elinor and we watched our daughters grow up to be friends. There wasn’t a thing that Jerry wouldn’t do for our family. He was there for us in sickness, death, and celebration. We had many fun golf outings making our “own rules”, fetching many used balls from wherever we saw them. He was a true and cherished friend and colleague. Annette and I regret greatly that we are out of state and cannot attend any of the funeral events or show our love for Elinor, Angela, and the rest of the family but please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, The Waldkoetters

Dear Elinore, My Christian sympathy to you and your family. I remember Jerry and you from all the LLL Ohio District meetings that my husband, Philip, attended. (Philip is also with the Lord.) Also seeing both you and Jerry at LLL conventions. May our loving God give you His peace and comfort. Lillian Keller
R. J. Smith left a message on March 3, 2021:
Mr. Brown was my 7th grade math teacher. I loved his corny jokes and really enjoyed his class. Years later we played golf together a few times at Ash Hollow. What I remember most though was him letting me come in early and stay late to learn about programming and games on his Atari ST computer, and the TRS80 computers in the back of the classroom. I think the ST was his own personal machine. I work at a software company now and wouldn't be where I am today without him. Sincere condolences to his family and heartfelt thanks to you, Mr. Brown.
Lorie Carter left a message on March 3, 2021:
I had Mr. Brown for math at Seymour Middle School & he made math so much fun. He cared for each one of his students. Mr. Otte, Mr. Huddleston, & Mr. Brown would make all kinds of math jokes but you never knew what they were up to next. Remember the good times with him & look forward to seeing him in heaven. Sorry for your loss. Praying for the family during this difficult time. Lorie (Rieckers) Carter
