Mr. John A. Bryant, 79 of Seymour went to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2019.
John was born in Seymour the son of the late John Harvey and Alberta L. Tomlinson Bryant. He had worked for The Walton Hotel in Seymour as a manager, Seymour Manufacturing and Swifty Oil Company as a station manager. John served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964.
John was a very loving man, always having a friend around the corner. He looked forward to getting his days started with friends at the truck stop for a cup of coffee. There he shared many laughs and stories with those friends. He enjoyed muzzle loading and cross bow seasons for both deer and turkey. His other hobbies were feeding the squirrels, driving his pickup truck, and sharing a smile with all those around him. He was a member of the Genesis Church in Seymour, where the children adored his wonderful personality.
John was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary Bryant, first wife Margaret A. Brock Bryant and his second wife Janette Kemp Bryant of 50 years, this May of 2019.
He will be greatly missed by his children; Victor Bryant, Charles Bryant, Pansey (Joe) Shelton, Faith (Jim) Gorbett, and Rebecca Bryant, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren, one sister Gennie Lee Donnells, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather at Voss Chapel on Wednesday after 9:00 a.m. until time of Service. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Voss & Sons Funeral Service, with Rev. Jeff Barnett officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview, with full military honors, conducted by the VFW, American Legion, both of Seymour.
Family ask that memorials be written in John’s memory to the Genesis Church, 357 Tanger Blvd, Suite 206, Seymour, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
