Mr. John E. Donnells, Jr. “Pops”, 89, of Seymour, passed away September 19, 2014.
John was born May 7, 1925, in Retreat, IN., the son of the late John and Lillie (Hamilton) Donnells.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. After the war he began working as a carpenter and retired from Carpentry. John was a good neighbor, an honest giving person, who loved to see children smile. He would drink coffee at Bevers Drug Store in the mornings and sit at the same table in front of the window, greeting people with a smile.
He is survived by a daughter Linda Donnells and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Leroy Donnells and Raymond Donnells, sisters; Florence Sullivan, Gertrude Walker, Irene Wilson and Marie Britton.
Funeral services will be held at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, September 24th at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez, officiating.
Friends and family may call at Voss Chapel on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, with full military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post #1925, American Legion Post# 89, DAV, Korean and Vietnam veterans all of Seymour.
