Prayers to John’s family. I played volleyball with John in the early 80s. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I feel fortunate to have known and shared friendship with John L. for many years. We enjoyed playing golf together along with our many friends. John L. was one of a kind. He always shared a thought or life lesson with us. We were members of the old Elks and played golf locally on weekends, league, tourneys and out of town on our Friday trips. We liked nothing more than the fun of completion even if it was to win just a few dollars from our buddies. I recall one time playing golf, John L. was shooting a great round. He could do no wrong. He said he thought he had figured out the game. I told John L. he shouldn't said that. Sure enough, before the day was over the bottom fell out of his game. He didn't say a word...the look on his face said it all. (Roy) Michael Stein.

I spent many Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings with John L. at the former Elks Club golf course in Seymour back in the 1980's. John L. was not only a good and devoted golfer but I always found his life interests and general inquisitiveness compelling and much advanced from many of his daily work mates. I will always remember and appreciate John L. Dave "abdule" Crouch.

Johnnie has a special place in our hearts. He was more then a friend, to us he was a "special" brother. He will never be forgotten. We'll all be together again some day, what a card game that will be.
