Karen was such a mentor and friend to me when I was around 10 years old (1990ish? Maybe?). She worked at The Shoe Factory in the office with my Grandmother, Dottie Schlueter. I would go to the office after school on Fridays and Karen was my favorite person to see! I absolutely loved her. I remember always wanting to see what she was wearing, in my young eyes she always had the prettiest clothes. I thought she was beautiful and wanted to be just like her when I grew up. She would let me come sit in her office, walk with her to get papers copied or deliver stuff to different offices. Looking back I was probably an annoying little kid who slowed her down from getting her work done but if that’s the case she never let it show:blush:. I haven’t seen her in many years but in her pictures she looks exactly as I remember her, still young beautiful and stylish and her smile still says that she was a friend to everyone. And I swear when I saw she was 61 I thought it was a misprint, I thought she was only about 10 years older than me, so around 20 when I would go up to the office. Karen, from an old friend who always looked up to you and thought the world of you, know that I am just one of many lives you touched over the years.

Fond memories of Karen during our years in Crothersville. She made and shared the most wonderful fudge, she knew it was a favorite. Such and generous and giving person who reflected the light of Jesus. Thoughts and prayers for her family and friends. Rev. Reg and Judi Mills

Karen such an inspiration to us all. She was thoughtful and kind. I had the honor to know her the last 24 years that I have been with Centra Credit Union. Her faith, community involvement, and missionary work was exceptionally commendable. She touched so many lives. I will truly miss Karen's spirit, smiles, and fellowship that I was able to share over the years. A true angel you are Karen. Always your friend Sharon Kirchhofer.

How I miss our wonderful friendship, you will forever be in my heart. I loved the talks we had on our front porch, we could tell each other everything and have such good times laughing, I loved your wonderful laugh and smile. When you would pull up in front of my house and say let's go get a ice cream. Those were the times I cherish and when you were so sick in bed and I was taking care of you till Jerry got home, all you wanted was my company and a grilled cheese which you said was the best haha.I know you are so very happy now to be with God and your family. Always love you dear friend.

Karen was the first person to welcome me to FBC and when she found out Gary Dyer was my brother, she would luv me as her sister the way she loved Gary. She has always been my mentor, best friend. We could always talk about anything. Karen taught me how to be strong in good and bad times. I keep thinking I'm going to wake up from this night mate, but as a daughter of GOD, I know she's in a better place, she will have peace now. I will truly miss her. Karen was one of a kind. I was my most successful as a branch manager while she was a my supervisor at Centra. That time was just a few years after losing my mom, and Karen treated me like a daughter. Her natural maternal nature influenced and nurtured me in a way I am just now understanding. My story is one of many about the impact Karen had on those in her life. To know Karen was to love her. I will miss her greatly.

Karen was one of the sweetest people I ever met. Always thinking of others. She loved her family and friends so much. She was a mentor to me at Centra Credit Union. She interviewed me for a position under her about a year ago and when I got back to the office she emailed me to let me know she really enjoyed our talk (we opened up and shared personal experiences) That meant so much to me and made me feel so good. She taught me a lot of great values that I will cherish forever. She will be greatly missed.
