Larry Melloncamp, 71 of Tampico, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016.
He was born February 23, 1945, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Harold William and Evelyn (Johnson) Melloncamp.
Larry was a member of the Tampico Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee. He served in the Air Force Reserve. He worked his entire life as a farmer while also working at Cummins until his retirement. He was a member of the Young Farmers Association, Jackson County Pork Producers and Indiana Pork Producers where he served on the Board of Directors as well as various committees. He enjoyed gardening, auctions and antique farm equipment. He loved his dogs and spending time with his family especially his granddaughter, Gabi.
He is survived by his children, Terry (Beth) Melloncamp, Eric Melloncamp and Amy (Julio) Torres; granddaughter, Gabriella Torres, his brother, Duane Melloncamp, the mother of his children, Dorothy Melloncamp, seven step-grandchildren, Trenton, Brittany, Christy, Victoria, Maria, Cesar and Carlos; and his companion, Tina Hines and her children, Mickey, Brittany and Bridget.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at Voss Chapel on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hayden Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather at Voss Chapel on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday after 9 a.m. until time of service.
Memorial checks may be written to Jackson County Humane Society, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center or charity of choice.
