Mrs. Laura Marie Wolfe Geiger, 84, of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at her home in Seymour, IN. She was born in Central City, Kentucky on April 5, 1934 to the late Tony and Irma (McKinley) Wolfe.
Laura married her soulmate, William D. Geiger on November 8, 1978 in Waukegan, IL.
She is a graduate of Vincennes University. She worked for many years as a full charge bookkeeper and enjoyed sewing, needlework and crocheting as well as restoring antiques and working on her family’s genealogy.
Laura was a member of Central Christian Church in Seymour as well as the order of the Eastern Star #134, White Shrine of Jerusalem; The Forte Nightly Club of Vincennes, and Star Club where she had acted as treasurer for many years. Laura had also volunteered as a Brownie Leader, Boy Scouts Den Mother, and Church Youth Group Leader.
She is survived by her son, Jay (Cathy) Smith; daughter, Sheila (Jeff) Haag and stepdaughter, Billie Jo Geiger. Grandchildren, Beth Pouge, Sara (Tyler) McGowan, Mark (Melanie) Smith, Dawn (Barry) Winston, Bryan (Jennifer) Haag, Brandon Haag, Caroline Haag, Samuel Talber, Zack Geiger and Dana Talbert; great-grandchildren, Keaten Pouge, Reese Pouge, Bryce Pouge, Brock Haag and Rosalyn Haag; and brother, Benjamin “Ben Mac” (Carolyn) Wolfe.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother Richard “Dick” Wolfe.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Voss and Sons Funeral Service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robin Everhart officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 4 to 8 PM and on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. The Eastern Star Memorial Service will be at 7:30 PM on Friday, September 14, 2018.
Memorials checks may be made to Shriners Hospital or the Indiana Masonic Home.
