Mr. Leroy C. Kendall, 96, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on December 28, 2020 at his home. Leroy was born in Seymour, Indiana in 1924 to the late Roy and Clara (Crane) Kendall. On November 3, in Birmingham, England, he married Emily Martha Lloyd, who preceded him in death May 3, 2000.
Leroy was associated with Trinity United Methodist Church. He retired from Product Engineering Company in Columbus, Indiana after 34 years of service. He served as private first class in the US Army during World War II. While serving in the war he earned a European Theater Ribbon with 5 Bronze Stars, a Combat Infantry Badge, and a Purple Heart. Leroy was a 50-year member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge #146. He also received the Kentucky Colonel commission.
Leroy is survived by his daughters; Martha (Paul) Schaeffer, Susan L. Roy (Joe McGinnis), son; David Kendall, grandchildren; Jim (Laura) Schaeffer, Jeremy Schaeffer (Isabel Barabicho) , Vanessa (Andy) Berry, Stacey (Nathan) Goode, great grandchildren; Jeremy Paul Schaeffer Jr., Aiden Jeremy Schaeffer, Grayson Jeremy Schaeffer, Kendall Suzanne Berry, and Isabella Goode.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, son; Jim Kendall, and sister; Lee Welling
A Masonic service will be held on Thursday December 31, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. and funeral services will immediately follow at Voss and Sons Funeral Home with Mike Seaney officiating. Visitation will be held on December 31, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required before admittance to the funeral home as well as social distancing within the building. We kindly ask that there be no physical contact such as hugs or handshakes to protect staff and the family. Attendance is limited to 25 people at any given time.
